Phases of the Moon |
|---|
|
| The way the Moon looks in the sky is because of its position
in its orbit around the Earth relative to the Sun. When the Moon is between
the Earth and the Sun, we can't see it because the light from the sun is
hitting the side of the Moon away from the Earth (New Moon.) When the Moon
is opposite the Sun relative to the Earth, it appears "Full"
(Full Moon.)
